Valery was a graduate of Tech Memorial High School, class of 1976. She was employed as a secretary for Wayne Park Baptist Church, Doctor's Osteopathic Hospital, East Erie Turners, and other retail establishments. She had a passion for all animals big and small, which included her cats whom she cherished and loved. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and preparing special desserts for all family events. Valery was an avid reader and enjoyed photography among her many interests.
Valery is survived by her husband of 32 years, Jim Szumigala; her mother, Lana; her grandmother, Bertha Bostaph; two sisters, Sandra Taccone (John), and Charisma Ghamo; three brothers, Michael R., Anthony J. (Stephanie), and Romeo J. She is also survived by two uncles, one aunt, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Interment at Lakeside Cemetery.
